When you give to Trinity Church Modbury, you’re playing your part in seeing the tide turned for Jesus in Modbury and beyond — one story at a time. Because you give, kids are hearing about Jesus, people are taking their first steps of faith, and others are being built up to go the distance. Your giving isn’t just support for a church — it’s you, participating directly in that work.
Why give?
It’s because God gave first. This is the ultimate motivation for Christian giving. Whether you are giving to the poor, supporting missionaries, or enabling the ministry of our church, your giving is a response to God’s generosity toward you.
For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that you through his poverty might become rich.
2 Corinthians 8:9
Biblical principles for giving:
- Deliberate — planned and thoughtful, not impulsive
- Generous — reflecting God’s abundant kindness
- Sacrificial — genuinely costly, not merely convenient
- Cheerful — given freely and joyfully
This kind of giving reflects God’s own generosity. This kind of giving isn’t out of pressure or obligation — it’s you joyfully responding to God’s own grace and joining in what God is doing here. Every gift is a tangible act of worship that helps other people live for Jesus.
Each one of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

Giving in this season
As we shared at our Thanksgiving & Vision Dinners, God has been doing some really encouraging things through Trinity Church Modbury and our partnership with the other churches in the North. The Hill has helped make Night Church, Life & Discover and Seek Youth possible, while also giving our five Northern churches a place to work and dream together about reaching more people with the gospel. At the moment, we are praying about how we can sustain and grow what God has already begun. Our current budget is around $35,000 a year short of what we need to break even, so we are asking our church family to prayerfully consider what part they might play. For some, that may mean continuing to give as you currently do. For others, it may be possible to increase your giving. Whatever your circumstances, we are grateful for the part you already play in the life and mission of Trinity Church Modbury.
